Reset your Android One to factory settings
You can remove all data from your Android One device by resetting it to factory settings, or doing a "force reset." You can do so by either using the Settings menu to erase all your data or by using the Recovery menu.
Important: By performing a factory data reset, all data — like your apps, photos, and music — will be wiped from the device. Any data stored in your Google Account will be restored when you sign in, but all apps and their data will be deleted and cannot be restored. Learn how to back up your data before performing a factory data reset.
Option 1: Erase data using the Settings menu
To perform a factory data reset using the Settings menu, follow these steps:
1. Before you reset your Android One, see options for backing up your data.
2. On your mobile device, open the Settings menu .
3. Under "Personal," touch Backup & reset . You may need to enter your pattern, PIN, or password.
4. Under "Personal data," touch
Factory data reset .
5. Read the information on the screen and touch Reset phone .
6. If you have a screen lock, you'll need to enter your pattern, PIN, or password.
7. When prompted, touch Erase everything to erase all data from your device's internal storage.
8. When your device has finished erasing, select the option to reboot your device.
You'll see the Welcome screen just as you did when you turned the device on for the first time. When you're done with the setup process, follow these steps to restore your data.
Option 2: Reset device in Recovery mode
Before you begin
If your device is running Android 5.1 or higher, your device is protected to prevent other people from using it if it's been reset to factory settings. To ensure that it's really you doing the reset, you'll need to enter a Google username and password associated with the device after factory reset. If you don't have this information, you won't be able to finish the setup process and use the device at all after factory reset.
You'll also need to:
Wait 72 hours if you recently reset your Google account password
Make sure you have an Internet connection
Back up your data to your Google Account and be ready to restore
To do a factory data reset, follow these steps:
1. If your phone is on, turn it off.
2. Press and hold the Volume up button and the Power button at the same time until the device turns on.
3. Press the Volume down button to select "Recovery mode." If you need to navigate to the "Recovery mode" option, use the Volume up button to move the arrow and the Volume down button to select it.
4. You’ll see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark and the words "No command."
5. While holding down the Power button, press the Volume up button and release it.
6. Use the volume buttons to scroll to "wipe data/factory reset" and press the Power button to select it.
7. Scroll down to "Yes - erase all user data" and press the Power button to select it.
Your Android One device will erase all of your data and restart with its factory settings. You'll see the Welcome screen just as you did when you turned the device on for the first time. When you're done with the setup process, follow these steps to restore your data.
Note: If your phone becomes unresponsive at any point during these steps, you can restart it by holding down the Power button for several seconds. If that doesn’t work, try taking the battery out and putting it back in and starting the steps again

device is frozen and unresponsive, press and hold the Power key for 10-15 seconds. The device will reboot automatically.
If this does not solve the problem, perform a factory data reset. In Idle mode, open the application list and select
Settings → Privacy → Factory data reset → Reset phone → Erase everything.
Select Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset: Reset your settings to the factory default values and delete all your data.
Press Application button, then Settings > Reset settings: Reset your settings to the factory default values.
While using your device, be sure to back up important data. When disposing of your device, back up all data and then reset your device

Use this method to hard reset your Samsung Galaxy Note N7000: Enter *2767*3855#. Warning! All your data including contacts, messages etc. will be lost! Copy all your necessary data/Contacts/Messages etc. to SIM or make backup to your PC before full reset! Take out SIM card before full reset.
General advice: Before you buy a new cell phone or new tablet, please try the following procedure to repair your device in a software way. First charge your battery, backup your important data if possible and in most cases take out SIM and SD card before doing factory reset. It is impossible to recover your data after doing a hard reset, so online backup is always important. For all of your data, a backup should be done on an external device, hard drive, raid system or media. With or without insurance, if your cell phone lost, damaged or stolen at least your invaluable data is backed up in a safe place. If you are about to sell your phone and you want to wipe your personal data, or if your phone affected with virus you have to do a hard reset. In some cases, you can delete the forgotten password or lock pattern from your device as well. All information is for devices with stock based ROMs. If you are using rooted device, always back up your EFS folder first, containing your IMEI info, etc.! Please also note, that a hard reset operation will not unlock your mobile phone's SIM lock or network lock, but it will remove the unlock pattern, remove the user password or PIN password (NOT the SIM card's 4 digit PIN code). Also note that the firmware version will not be affected in any way, it will not be downgraded, it will remain the same you are using and if you have rooted your device, root privileges remain also unaffected.
